News: Malaysia HTC Wildfire gets Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade now

Good news for HTC Wildfire users! After the Froyo update details for HTC Aria/HTC Legend, and now Android 2.2 Froyo update is finally available for South East Asian region via Over The Air (OTA) update. This comes just several days after it was made available in Europe.

News: Malaysia HTC Legend gets Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade now

Previously post refer, Europe HTC Legend gets Android 2.2 upgrade. Well the time has come for users in Malaysia to join in the update frenzy. Yes that’s right HTC Legend users of Malaysia, the official update for Android 2.2 Froyo is now available over the air for you. It carries the firmware version number of 3.15.707.3.
To get your OS update go to Settings: about phone > system software updates and download away.
Some of the notable changes are:

News: DiGi reveals HTC Desire HD bundle plan

DiGi has officially reveal the bundle pricing for the HTC Desire HD after several weeks of ROI. As announced during the launch event, the HTC Desire HD retails at RM2299.
On DiGi Smart Plan, the HTC Desire HD goes for RM1699 for 12 months (Save RM600) and RM1399 for 24 months contract (save RM900). This time around, DiGi is only subsidising RM900 for 24 months plan which is RM100 less compared to its previous RM1000 subsidy on the HTC Legend and Aria.

News: Europe HTC Legend gets Android 2.2 upgrade

We noticed that HTC UK posted an update to their Facebook page, announcing that HTC will begin rolling out Android 2.2 to the HTC Legend across Europe starting today, December 9th.

HTC UK has confirmed on its Facebook page that European HTC Legends will be getting the update to Android 2.2.
As for us, we’re waiting for an update from HTC Malaysia on when local Legends be getting the Android 2.2 update. Fingers crossed it won’t be far off from the European release.

News: DiGi to offer HTC Desire HD

Finally DiGi is offering something serious for its Android lineup as predicted earlier. They have just announced that they will be offering the HTC Desire HD on DiGi but through another round of Registration of Interest.
Similar to other BlackBerry/Android bundles, this will be bundled with DG Smart Plan at RM68/month over 12 or 24 months contract. Today is the actual launch of the HTC Desire HD/Z and we hope it won’t take too long for them to offer it on DiGi.

News: Samsung Galaxy S to receive 2.2 update

Samsung has officially announced that their Galaxy S is getting Froyo update from 15th Oct 2010 onwards. This will be rolled out in phases starting with the Nordic region, followed by Europe, South East Asia, Middle East, North America, Africa and the rest of the globe.

Phones: HTC T-Mobile G2 officially revealed

It is finally revealed! The replacement of the pioneering T-Mobile G1, the T-Mobile G2 is now open for pre-ordering.
Just as mentioned earlier, the T-Mobile G2 runs on a 800MHz processor, Android 2.2 Froyo, 4GB on board storage and supports HSPA+, making it the first Android smartphone to offer “4G-like speeds” on a 3G network. Pre-orders starts on 10th September by BestBuy and it expects to hit all stores by 6th October. It goes for $199 over a 2 year contract.

Phones: Huawei Ideos To Launch Next Month

Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei has launched a new Android Phone called the IDEOS running on Froyo or Android 2.2. The phone has been developed in partnership with Google. The company is aiming to redefine the meaning of an entry level smartphone with the IDEOS. Huawei IDEOS that will sell between £99(RM400) and £129(RM520) in the mass market.
The Google-branded phone runs on the latest Android 2.2 mobile OS and set to be available sometime next month in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America and Latin America.

News: Honeycomb is the next Android version

Words out all over the net that the next iteration of the Android OS will be called Honeycomb.
The build after Gingerbread will be codenamed “Honeycomb”. It is unknown what Honeycomb’s Android version will be, be it 3.1 or 3.2. Nothing is really known about Honeycomb, other than the supposed name of the new Android build.
As with all these news that are ahead of their time, no details are forthcoming as to what Android Honeycomb will entail and frankly speaking at this moment in time.
