Phones: Galaxy Nexus official availability before CNY 2012

According to Samsung Malaysia Facebook page, the Galaxy Nexus will be officially here in early 2012 before Chinese New Year while Chinese New Year falls on 23rd January in 2012.

The next missing detail would be the price. So far grey importers are selling it about RM2300-2500 range. We are expecting that Samsung would price this competitively at no more than RM2000, somewhere between the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note.

Google and Samsung have officially high-fived each other and unviled the result of their collaboration: the Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset which is the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich powered phone on the planet.
It’s a slim creation with a super slender form factor, sporting a hefty 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED, 1280 x 720 (720p) display backed by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a generous 1GB RAM onboard.

Phones: Brightstar confirms Motorola RAZR is coming to Malaysia

We’re received an update from Brightstar confirming that the sleek looking Motorola RAZR will be coming to Malaysia, and that’s all we know for now as Brightstar did not say when the device will be launch and how much it will cost.
Looking at how things are panning out, a November launch date is very possible and looking at the trend of smartphone pricing currently, the RAZR shouldn’t cost more than RM2,200 or thereabouts.

HTC: Revises pricing for Android devices in Malaysia

HTC Malaysia has officially announced its new reduced retail pricing for HTC Wildfire S, HTC Chacha, HTC Salsa and the HTC Sensation.
The HTC Wildfire S which previously retails at RM1,099 is now priced at RM899, which is a RM200 reduction. Meanwhile, the 2 Facebook oriented devices, HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa are sold at RM799 and RM999 respectively. When announced, the ChaCha was going for RM1,099 and the Salsa at RM1,499.

News: Gmail Mobile Web Updated– Brings A Few New Features

For those of you with iPads or Playbooks, Google has recently spruced up the mobile version of Gmail on the web. The new interface looks a lot more similar to the Honeycomb version of Gmail feature window panes and email previews. One of the newer features is the addition of the “pull down to refresh” way of refreshing your inbox. Also added were sharper icons and new screen transitions when opening emails. News: Honeycomb 3.1 for Google TV

As Google promised in May, Google TV is about to get a taste of some sweet Honeycomb. According to some reports, users are already seeing their Google TV devices appear under “My Devices” on the Market’s web app. This is most likely Google’s handiwork as they put the final touches before rolling out the update.

News: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 coming to Malaysia

Samsung Malaysia will complete Samsung’s tablet trio by bringing in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to Malaysia as well. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be launched around one month after the 10.1 hits Malaysian stores. So if the Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes out this month, the 8.9 could be here sometime around September or October.
In term of specifications, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has virtually identical internals save for the fact that its screen is smaller at 8.9-inches.

News: HTC Sensation now RM999 from Maxis

Maxis has made the HTC Sensation more affordable at only RM999 on contract. This 2 weeks promo from 18 – 31st July is tied with 24 months contract of 3GB data plan. The bare minimum commitment to take up this offer is RM108/month which consists of RM30 Value First postpaid with RM78 3GB data plan after RM10 rebate.

News: Maxis to offer Motorola Atrix as low as RM1299

Maxis is now offering the Motorola Atrix for as low as RM1,299, with contract of course (RRP without contract is RM1,999). In terms of packages, it’s the same deal as any other Maxis Android device plan, just choose any Maxis Value plan (Value First or Value Plus) and add to that a data bundle (500MB, 1.5GB, 3GB) and you’re good to go.
