DiGi now offers 3 more Android devices on DG Smart Plan which all runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. They are the LG Optimus One, CSL Droidpad Mi700 and Huawei Ideos U8150.

The LG Optimus One which retails at RM899 is going for RM549 over 12 months or RM299 over 24 months contract with DG Smart Plan which gives a substantial savings of RM600. If you’re looking for an affordable tablet, the 7? CSL Droidpad Mi700 fits the bill as it is offered at RM1049 over 12 months or as low as RM799 over 24 months contract. The Droidpad originally retails at RM1599. Last but not least, the already affordable Huawei Ideos U8150 is offered at RM399 over 12 months or as low as RM149 over 24 months contract.

Motorola even managed to cram in a thumbprint scanner and a huge 1930mAh battery in that svelte 10.95mm thin frame. In comparison, the “world’s thinnest smartphone”, the iPhone 4 is 9.3mm thick.

If that doesn’t blow you away, then the two docking stations along with the developed Webtop for the Atrix will. These docks effectively transform the Atrix into a notebook or a multimedia home entertainment player capable of churning out HD videos and images.

The Weptop app is the key to the Atrix’s tremendous appeal. The app essentially turns the Atrix into a capable PC, with a solid looking interface that’s not unlike the Mac OSX. There’s also a full version of Firefox with Flash 10.1 support, a file manager, and Citrix remote desktop support so users can remote access their PCs while away.

Who needs a netbook nowadays? Imagine working out of the office where you only need to dock the Atrix to its laptop dock, to access everything in your work PC at the office. This here is the key to office independence ladies and gentlemen.

The Motorola Laptop Dock features a 11.6-inch display, two USB ports, a spacious keyboard along with a large trackpad that support two-finger scrolling. There’s also a set of built-in stereo speakers and a three-cell battery that can power the whole assembly for up to eight hours. From the pictures, the laptop dock looks thin and light, and judging by the combination of aluminum and plastic that makes up the dock, we can bet that the built quality is going to be top notch.

The Motorola HD Multimedia Dock features a power connector, three USB ports, and an HDMI port, along with an infrared remote. It turns the Atrix 4G into both a multimedia center or a kind of desktop PC when connected to a display and a keyboard/mouse combo.

The question now is when will the Atrix come to Malaysia? We can see so many uses for it.

Good news for HTC Wildfire users! After the Froyo update details for HTC Aria/HTC Legend, and now Android 2.2 Froyo update is finally available for South East Asian region via Over The Air (OTA) update. This comes just several days after it was made available in Europe.

You should be getting a software update notification soon or if you can’t wait, you can download it immediately at [ Settings > About Phone > System Software Updates ].

The latest firmware carries the number 2.24.707.1 and if you don’t have a data plan, we strongly suggest you download via WiFi. As per any software upgrade, it is advisable to backup your data first before proceeding. Support details are now showing at HTC SEA support page.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has appeared on DiGi Smart Plan page making it the 3rd telco to bundle the device after maxis and Celcom. Earlier on, DiGi had started offering a barrage of devices including the Galaxy S and the HTC 7 Mozart.

On DG Smart Plan, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is going at RM1849 over 12 months or RM1599 over 24 months contract. Celcom has recently revised its Galaxy Tab bundling from as low as RM1288 over 18 months contract of Celcom Exec 250+Broadband mPro package. Meanwhile Maxis is doing a Christmas bundle promo at RM1699 with 24 months bolt on subscription of its data plans.

Good news to HTC Aria users! Android 2.2 froyo is now available for your device.

Your phone will receive a notification when the update it is made available. Simply press OK to get the update going. Considering the previous OTA Froyo update for the HTC Legend is over 80MB big, we’d recommend you connect to a WiFi network before proceeding.

To confirm a successful update, from the Home Screen, go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Build number. The new Build number after the update will be 2.37.708.5. Update: Android 2.2 and HTC Sense update.

Previously post refer, Europe HTC Legend gets Android 2.2 upgrade. Well the time has come for users in Malaysia to join in the update frenzy. Yes that’s right HTC Legend users of Malaysia, the official update for Android 2.2 Froyo is now available over the air for you. It carries the firmware version number of 3.15.707.3.

To get your OS update go to Settings: about phone > system software updates and download away.

Previously, Samsung has officially announced that their Galaxy S is getting Android 2.2 (Froyo) update from 15th Oct 2010 onwards. Now, Samsung Mobile India confirmed via its Twitter account that the Galaxy S will get Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) BUT there’s no set date for the update release, so that’s a bit pointless.

The good thing is, since the statement came out from India, it is very likely that Asian Galaxy S users will get the update as well.

Since, Europe HTC Legend gets Android 2.2 upgrade, we’re still wondering when HTC Malaysia will announce Android 2.2 update for the HTC Legend.

We noticed that HTC UK posted an update to their Facebook page, announcing that HTC will begin rolling out Android 2.2 to the HTC Legend across Europe starting today, December 9th.

HTC UK has confirmed on its Facebook page that European HTC Legends will be getting the update to Android 2.2.

As for us, we’re waiting for an update from HTC Malaysia on when local Legends be getting the Android 2.2 update. Fingers crossed it won’t be far off from the European release.

Motorola upcoming model -Motorola Olympus (pics from Gizmodo). The device which carries the model number MB860 has a possible 3.8?-4? screen size and comes with dedicated HDMI and microUSB ports at the sides. It is also rumoured that the Olympus runs on the dual-core Tegra 2 processor as well. Right now it runs on Android 2.2 Froyo but it is likely that it will be launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

No further details of launch but with more Tegra 2 devices appearing lately. From the photos, we can also ascertain that there’s a HDMI port as well as a microUSB port for charging/syncing, and a forward-facing camera. We have a strong feeling that dual-core androids could be widely launched in Q1 next year when Gingerbread is officially released.

According to the latest update, Dell will stop concentrating on rolling out Android 2.1 eclair on its 5? Dell Streak but instead focuses on rolling out Android Froyo directly.

It seems that it takes more effort to update Android 2.1 and it makes more sense to go straight to the latest Froyo directly. Dell is said to be committed to deliver their Froyo update before 2010 is out. Let’s hope they stick to their word and not becoming another Sony Ericsson which is still stuck with good old 1.6 Donut.

If Dell is going to release the 5? Tablet in Malaysia, it better come with Froyo considering Samsung will debut its 7? Galaxy Tab with Froyo running already.
