Dell is now selling their 5? screen havin’ tablet/phone, Streak, in their online shop for $299 subsidized by AT&T on contract and for $549 free and clear. Well, perhaps “free” isn’t the appropriate term, as an outright purchase will get you a carrier locked Streak with no frequency band support for T-Mobile 3G. Motorola together with Verizon has finally announced the Droid 2, the successor to the popular Motorola Droid / Milestone. To ride on the success of its predecessor, the Droid 2 maintain its original form factor and features a new slider QWERTY keyboard, WiFi hotspot capability and Flash 10.1 support. All of these comes ready the Android 2.2 (Froyo) built-in.
According to early leaked specs, the Droid 2 has a 8GB Internal Memory with additional 8GB microSD, a 5.0MP Camera and 1GHz TI OMAP Processor with dedicated GPU.

According to a leak today, what we previously knew as the HTC Ace, could in fact be called the HTC Desire HD.

4.3 ” WVGA (480 x 800) capacitive touchscreen
1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
8 Megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture

Another Android device has been launched called the Droid X. This becomes the 3rd Droid series on Verizon’s offering after the hot selling Motorola Droid (aka Milestone) and HTC Droid Incredible.
What we learnt from the event is that the Droid X features a 4.3? screen, ability to shoot 720p video and it is powered with a 1GHz ARMv7 processor. Unlike the Motorola Droid, the Droid X does not come with qwerty slider keyboard.

Android Central reported that a new Froyo update is coming to Nexus One users via OTA.
Read here for more information and features regarding Froyo (Android OS 2.2).
The new update carries the build number FRF83. The previous OTA update was build FRF50.
If you’re having a Nexus One, try checking for update on your phone today onwards. Once the notification kicks in, it is recommended to download via WiFi or 3G if you have unlimited data plan.

The Motorola Droid or known as Motorola Milestone has an early upgrade to Android 2.2 (Froyo) but in an unofficial way. Some guys at MyDroidWorld had published the downloadable upgrade at their forum. Unfortunately WiFi doesn’t work with this version.
If you’re eager to get Android 2.2 on your Droid/Milestone and don’t mind to live without WiFi for the time being, head to their forum thread and follow the instructions given.
Of course we believe Motorola themselves are working on an official upgrade, the only question is when.
